Volunteers

The City of Milton needs your help in making this year's 5K a successful event! We are looking for spirited volunteers (individuals or groups) to set up the course, man water stations, help at registration/packet pickup, work the finish line, act as race marshals, or help clean up. There is a volunteer position for everyone! Volunteering is a great way to make friends and give back to the community. All volunteers will receive a FREE commemorative T-shirt!

Here are the volunteer opportunities, along with times and job descriptions:

Course Setting Crew (12:00 PM - 3:00 PM)

Starting at 12:00 PM, travel with the road race crew to put up all signage, mile markers and water stations. Strong backs and people who like a good workout are encouraged for these positions!

Breakdown Crew (6:00 PM - 9:00 PM)

Once the race/awards ceremony is over (approximately 6:30 pm), help pick up course signs, breakdown the water stations, and help load tables, chairs & equipment onto trucks/trailers.

Registration Crew (3:00 PM - 5:30 PM)

Assist with last minute registration. This will take place at the Riverwalk Pavilion on Willing Street (across the street from the gravel parking).

Packet Pickup Station (3:00 PM - 5:30 PM)

All registered runners must come to the Riverwalk Pavilion to pick up their runner's packet. These packets contains their bib number, race shirt, safety pins, route map, free goodies and any additional information they may need. You are there to ensure that each runner is properly identified and picks up their designated packet.

Water Stations (4:00 PM - 6:30 PM)

One of the most important things is to provide runners with essential fluids along the way. We need volunteers to man 3 water stations along the course and 1 at the finish area.

Post-Race Food Tables (4:00 PM - 6:30 PM)

After the participants have crossed the finish line, they'll have the opportunity to grab refreshments (oranges, pretzels, crackers, etc.). Volunteers in this area will pass out snacks and replenish the stock as needed.

We ask that volunteers please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your shift!
